Who can use our logo? 

A 'Collective' Trade Mark

The Gardeners Guild (TGG) Logo is registered as a 'Collective' Trade Mark. 

This means that it is not simply our intellectual property, it is also legally protected with officially registered restrictions on who can use it.

Legally, only those who fulfill both of the following criteria can use our logo:
- They are a current member of The Gardeners Guild.
- They hold a Horticultural Qualification at Level 2 Certificate or above.    

Used under License

Registered Members of The Gardeners Guild are permitted to use the logo as part of a license to use it while they are current members of The Gardeners Guild.  We reserve the right to charge anyone who uses our logo when not a current member of The Gardeners Guild for the full time that they have used or displayed our logo while not entitled to do so.

Trading Standards

It is illegal to mislead customers by claiming or suggesting membership of an organisation when not a member or when membership has expired. 

If you are aware of anyone using our logo when they are not entitled to do so, please report them to Trading Standards and let us know as well.   

Variations

As well as the Logo being a 'Collective' Trade Mark, the words 'The Gardeners Guild' is also a Registered Trade Mark. This means that the images we give to members can feature variations in the words that appear near or below the logo.   

As a result, you may see members displaying a logo with the following accepted variations near or below the official logo:
- Registered Member
- Qualified Gardeners
- Qualified Gardener
- The Trade Network for Qualified Gardeners   

Check Membership Status

You can use our Member Register to search for current members by name or business name. Genuine members will be listed in the register. If you cannot find the details of your gardener on the register they are not a member of The Gardeners Guild.
